Shiv Sena to meet PM Modi before parting company
Mumbai: After breaking up its 25-year-long alliance with BJP, the Shiv Sena is reportedly having second thoughts about pulling out from the BJP-led NDA.
As per reports, when Union Minister Anant Geete wanted to resign from the Cabinet, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday asked him to wait as a final decision would be taken after consulting with PM Narendra Modi, who returns from the US on Wednesday. He also reportedly added that pulling out from NDA is not that easy.
"We respect people's mandate. They helped us to win the seats in alliance with the BJP. Decision of pulling out will be taken only after proper consultations with our party workers and will discuss the same with PM Modi also," said Thackeray.
Both the parties broke the 25-year-old alliance last Thursday over seat-sharing in the upcoming assembly polls in the state
