‘SHE Shuttles’ Ensuring Safety of Women Commuters in IT Corridor

Hyderabad: The IT corridor in the city has now become a place of safety for women employees and thanks to “She Shuttles”-- an exclusive reliable transport service for women which is on the roll in Hyderabad city. The free and secure travel service intended for women workers in IT corridor covering Madhapur, Gachibowli and surrounding areas provided by Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) has been a big success with good results since its launch in June 30 of last year

The service dedicated for women employees was flagged off by the IT Minister KT Rama Rao at IT Raheja park in Madhapur with two buses by funding Rs. 40 lakh by TSIIC.

The service, which is a joint initiative of the SCSC and Government of Telangana in association with Cyberabad Police, has ensuring the safe journey for women workers of SCSC in IT corridor. The service is being is used by nearly 2,000 women employees daily by four buses plying between 8:00 am to 10:00 pm covering all the important junctions in Madhapur and Gachibowli.

The shuttle service is absolutely free clubbed with safety with a chance to track the bus real-time by the employees by using ‘Reach Safe’ app installed in the buses with one-touch police alert. The app can be downloaded by women employees too for dynamic location details of the buses besides safety features. The bus service will be closely monitored by a command and control centre in Cyberabad commissionerate at Gachibowli.

The women employees say with the motto ‘travel free of charge and reach safe’, the ‘She Shuttles’ are absolutely a huge success. whenever an alert is raised, police teams are reacting instantly and had been able to reach the location within minutes. Giving protection from being kidnapped, sexual attacks and harassments from rogues, creep drivers of private cabs and autos, the every moment with the details of driver and woman guard in the bus is monitored by the police all the time.

The passengers can use ‘Track Me’ option to ensure safety and it will send the emergency info to their employer and the police as well. Then the police personnel will be sent to the spot immediately from the control room. The information about buses can also be accessed through ‘She Shuttle Information System (SSIS) on mobiles.
