Hyderabad: SHE Teams on Monday celebrated its second anniversary.

The wing chief Swati Lakra said that after its launch 20 percent of harassment cases have been reduced, adding that now many are aware of SHE Teams and perpetrators are aware of getting caught.

Lauding its success, Swati said that information about it has been included in the Telangana Intermediate curriculum which has been added in 2nd year Civics subject.

Aiming to aid security for woman SHE Teams was launched on October 24 2014 and nearly 800 offenders have been booked since two years for harassing women

"In Hyderabad 76 percent people are aware of SHE Teams and 1,897 petty cases, 40 cases under the Nirbhaya Act, 33 cases under the IPC and IT Act and one case under the POCSO Act have been registered at various police stations in the city," said Lakra.

It has been found that 23 percent of the offenders were juveniles and just over 1 percent were aged above 40 years.
