Sharmila completes 3,000 km in her march
There's a new role model who has been discovered in the past few months for women around the state; Sharmila - who best describes herself as - "the daughter of your Rajanna and sister of your Jagananna.”
She set out of home with a clear-eyed vision when she began the 'Maro Praja Prasthanam' padayatra to protest against the government's anti-people policies and TDP's conspiracy. Today, she has accomplished her goal of crossing the landmark of 3000 kms over a hundred constituencies.
She covered 3000 kms before reaching Dhanupavaram in Srikakulam district, where she unveiled a statue of her late father YSR.
Shramila started her padayatra at Idupulapaya in YSR's Kadapa district on October 18. She toured 14 districts - YSR, Anantapur, Kurnool, Mahbubnagar, Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Khammam, East Godavari, West Godavari and others.
Addressing a huge public gathering at Dhanapuvram on the occasion of completing 3000 kms, Sharmila explained the stark contrast between the YSR regime and that of Chief Minister, Kiran Kumar Reddy's and TDP chief, Chandrababu Naidu's.
She reminded people how Chandrababu had back-stabbed his father-in-law, NTR then, and is now doing the same to the people of the state.
Sharmila said her father used to say there is 'Muniswar curse' on Chandrababu Naidu. If he speaks the truth, his head will break a thousand times.
It is a known fact that Sharmila sustained a knee injury when she slipped at BN Nagar in the Ranga Reddy district. She underwent a surgery and despite all odds, resumed the yatra to fulfill his brother's YS Jagan's promise to the people.
Sharmila is the perfect example of someone who has progressed from being known as YSR's daughter to a household name today. She has fought against all odds for the cause of her brother and party and symbolic today of someone who redefines persistence and dedication.
