YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan's sister Sharmila said that YSR continues to live in the hearts of the common man as he had rolled out a plethora of welfare schemes to benefit all sections of the society.

His rule would be remembered for not imposing any fresh taxes and for no effecting a price hike.

Addressing a large gathering at Devarakonda in Nalgonda, Sharmila said the poor people in the state were able to access corporate education only because of the Aarogyasri scheme introduced by YSR. "YSR is instrumental in ensuring that quality medicare is made available to the poor. Lakhs of poor people have benefited from the Aarogyasri scheme ," she said.
For students, YSR ensured that professional education was accessible through the fees reimbursement scheme, she added.
The YSRCP leader appealed all YSR’s followers to wage a relentless battle to ensure that the welfare schemes launched by him reached the needy and protect them from being watered down.
She further said that YSR will continue to remain ensconced in the hearts of the people for his endeavours. " YSR lives on. YSR is still in the hearts of the people and he would remain in their hearts eternally," Sharmila said amid cheers from the crowd.
As part of her Paramarsha yatra, she visited the family members of Balamma who ended her life following the untimely death of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. She consoled them at Madanapuram of Chintapalli mandal. When Sharmila reached Devarakonda road, she was accorded a grand welcome.
Sharmila was accompanied by YSR Congress Telangana State working president and Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and several other leaders.
