Shankar Rao taken into custody

The Hyderabad ploice on Thursday have taken former Minister and Secunderabad Cantonment Congress MLA P Shankar Rao into custody, to question him on the charges of committing fraud, submitting false documents to court, land grabbing and misusing his official position.
Shankar Rao has been accused of land-grabbing by residents of Greenfields Colony in Kannajiguda, in Old Alwal under Malkjagiri Mandal of Ranga Reddy district. More than 800 plots have been registered on over 60 acres, which was being claimed by Shankar Rao and his brother Dayanand.
Shankar Rao was accused of submitting false documents to courts.
The case booked against him was under section 120B, 420, 367 and 468 of the IPC.
It is learnt that they have shifted Shankar Rao to the Neredmet police station.
