Shankar Rao not cooperating with probe: CID - Sakshi Post

Additional Director-General, CID, T. Krishna Prasad  on Tuesday said that former minister and Secunderabad Cantonment MLA P. Shankar Rao was not cooperating with the investigation.

It may be recalled that Shankar Rao, accused of land grabbing by residents of Greenfields Colony in Kannajiguda, in Old Alwal under Malkjagiri Mandal of Ranga Reddy district, was taken into custody recently.

But following the protests by Dalit groups and other political leaders' criticism over the manner in which Shankar Rao was treated while being taken to Neredmet police station for questioning, the government had ordered a CID investigation into the episode.

It is learnt that the CID officials made two trips to CARE hospital to question Shankar Rao. But Shankar Rao and his family members  refused to talk with the officials,  Krishna Prasad  said.
