Shankar Rao descends before DGP office, dares police to arrest him
Former minister and Secunderabad Cantonment MLA P Shankar Rao, who went missing for the past two days, suddenly made his appearance before the DGP office in Hyderabad this evening. Descending before the top police boss office from nowhere, the former minister dared the police to arrest him and frame criminal charges against him. "Am I criminal to be arrested. The police without any proper permission came to my house and conducted unauthorized searches. Just because I belong to SC community, I am being subjected to untold hardships and harassment " Shankar Rao thundered while talking to the media at the DGP office.
Claiming that he had never gone missing and that he went to Shanisignapur in Maharashtra to perform poojas, Shankar Rao alleged that after the police searches in his house some crucial documents were missing. "Who is responsible for this," he asked.
Because of the inefficiency of the Kirankumar Reddy Government, the Congress vote bank in the State is dwinling and has now touching its lowest ebb, Shankar Rao stated.
The former minister and his brother, Devanand, were allegedly involved in a land grabbing case in Secunderabad. A case was booked against the duo but Shankar Rao obtained stay on it. However, with the court now vacating the stay on the operation of the case, the police now want to question Shankar Rao and his brother in the case.
Shankar Rao was not seen in the city in the past two days giving room for speculation that he went missing. This evening he emerged suddenly and is staging a sit-in before the DGP office. Even during the sit-in, he reportedly got fainted.
