Shah Rukh Khan To Play Peacemaker Role In Baahubali 2?
Hyderabad: Tollywood's magnum opus Baahubali sequel 'Baahubali - The Conclusion' which had already created huge expectations after the first movie's blockbuster success last year, is going to feature Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, according to social media buzz.
With a widespread guesswork of fans and industry that SS Rajamouli's directorial will feature superstars like Mohanlal and Suriya in guest roles setting the momentum in full swing for the movie, the talk of Shah Rukh's presence has propelled the expectations even higher.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the makers of Baahubali first wanted to rope in an established superstar from another language to play the role of the mediator between Prabhas and Rana Dagubatti's characters. They initially approached Tamil superstar Suriya followed by Malayalam stalwart Mohanlal but eventually went ahead with Khan, probably to enhance its pan-Indian appeal.
The social media buzz suggests that Shahrukh will be playing the character of a mediator between protagonist Prabhas and villain Rana Daggubati.
However, there is no official confirmation on the presence of either Shah Rukh, Mohanlal or Suriya from the makers of Baahubali.
Baahubali-2 being one of the most-awaited Indian movies of 2017 after the massive success of Baahubali: The Beginning, trade experts are expecting that the second instalment will be even bigger in terms of the box-office collections. And if superstars like Shah Rukh get associated with the project, Bahubali 2 will certainly set new box office records.
Bahubali 2 features Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty, among others. The film is scheduled to release on April 28.
Even the director had earlier said the sequel will be grander than the first part. Shah Rukh's latest release Raees has been doing a decent business at the box office.
Shahrukh khan's next will be with Anushka Sharma in Imtiaz Ali's untitled movie. SRK has already started working with Aanand L Rai for his upcoming movie.
Hindustan Times reports that the makers have signed Khan for a special appearance in the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning. Khan has given various memorable cameos in the past, such as in Shaad Ali's 2002 romantic film Saathiya, Raj Kanwar's 2010 romantic drama Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Sajid Khan's 2007 directorial debut Heyy Babyy, Zoya Akhtar's directorial debut Luck By Chance, the Bhoothnath franchise and Karan Johar's romantic drama from last year, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
