Sewerage Treatment Plant to be set up at Fateh Nagar - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A sewerage treatment plant at a cost of Rs50 crore will be set up at Lal Bahadur Shastry Nagar near Fateh Nagar in the city.The chemical wastes released from the industrial area are emanating foul smell due to which residents of Kukatpally and Jeedimetla are suffering a lot on a regular basis. Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister of Commercial Taxes and Cinematography announced the setting up of the plant to clear the problem.

Talasani inspected the locality drainage diversion point and Khaitan industrial area open drainage with the officials of various departments. The residents complained the minister on their deteriorating health conditions due to the sewerage problem. While reacting on the problem, the minister urged the Centre to support the plant by contributing funds.

The minister directed the officials to conduct a meeting of all the 400 industry owners of Balangar, Jeedimetla industrial area within 10 days on the release of chemical waste through their industries which is causing diseases to the residents.

GHMC Commissioner, Jalamandali Managing director Janardhan Reddy and Operational Director Rameshwar Rao, HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu, Pollution control board member secretary Anil kumar, GHMC chief engineer BVN Reddy, EE Jyothi, Zonal Commissioner BV Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Commissioner Narender Goud, area corporater Pandala Satish Goud and others participated in the programme.
