Seven persons killed in two separate accidents

Five people were killed after the car they were traveling in collided head-on with a lorry near Khumbakarna project at Penugonda in Ananthapur district in the early hours of Wednesday.

While the lorry driver fled the spot after the accident, cleaner was taken into police custody. The details of the deceased are yet to be known.

In another tragic mishap, two persons were killed when the motor cycle they were traveling in collided with a school van near Pinapuram village under Muttukuru mandal of Nellore district.

The two persons on the bike died on the spot. Police registered a case and began probe into the incident.
