Separate exams for TET and DSC

The Telangana government proposes to conduct separate examinations for DSC and Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET), according to the state Education Department.
While the TET exam will be conducted on January 24, 2016, the DSC exam will be conducted on either March or April of 2016. The Education Department estimates that at least three lakh students will take the examinations. The students, however, are demanding a combined examination of DSC and TET on the lines of those conducted by the Andhra Pradesh government. They also demanded weightage for those who wrote the TET exam in the past.
The Telangana government has decided to appoint additional director of school education Gopal Reddy as the convenor for the TET examination, the education department announced.
