Seer Puts His Feet On Siva Lingam, Says This Is Veera Saiva Worship 

In an incident that shocked the devout, a seer has touched a Siva Linga with his feet as part of a worship ritual. The incident drew ire of the Hindus, especially the Saivaite groups. The seer, identified as Santalingeswara Swamy of Santalingeswara Mutt near Ranganabetta in Nelamangala area on the outskirts of the city, performed this act while inaugurating a new branch of the Mutt.

At the time of Sivalinga consecration, the seer had placed his feet on the Lingam. In the images and video clips circulating on the social media, the disciples were seen performing poojas. Swami is known to speak only on Ugadi day and remain silent during the rest of the year. He has issued a statement through his disciples that the ritual was part of the Veera Saiva tradition and should not be seen as a sacrilege.
