Seemandhra roads get a facelift - Sakshi Post

Who said roads were meant only for vehicles? Come to Seemandhra region and you will see how else it can be utilised.

The Centre's Telangana declaration has given a new look to the roads in the Seemandhra region. Unsurprisingly you will not find vehicles on the roads but people who have busied themselves in various activities.

Samaikynahdra activists have made roads their second home or so it seems. Scores of people who are opposing the division of state are seen preparing food on the streets. They have given the activity a name too —'Vanta Varpu' programme.

Some roads have been used by the public to stage dharnas and sit-in fast, blocking the roads. Believe it or not some protestors have even constrcuted a wall on the highway to  preventing vehicles from plying. Kurnool residents are using the road for yoga and gym practice. Women and children too are part of it.

Some places irate protestors who saw buses plying on the road, have blocked the road with stones. Bike rallies, dharnas and human chains are a common sight on every part of Seemandhra region. Another scene would be protestors performing last rites to the effigies of Sonia Gandhi and KCR. Some roads have even been turned into playgrounds with volley ball matches in progress.
