The Seemandhra Lawyers' Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to write letters to the prime minister, president and union home minister to desist from dividing Andhra Pradesh and attending a proposed meeting on September 7 at Hyderabad.

Seemandhra Lawyers' JAC met at Guntur yesterday and chalked out the future course of action in support of a united Andhra Pradesh.

They adopted a resolution that protest programmes will commence from September 2 to September 15, Seemandhra Lawyers' JAC Co-Convener Muppalla Subba Rao said.

The resolution includes conduct of meetings at every gram panchayat and passing of resolutions in favour of a united Andhra Pradesh, with a sarpanch's signature and sent the same to the central government. Lawyers' boycott of courts till September 15 and the next meeting will be held at Anantapur on September 14, where the future course of action will be chalked out, he said.
