'Security cover for steel plants top priority' - Sakshi Post


Andhra Pradesh DGP V Dinesh Reddy underlined the need for providing security to steel industry units in the country.

Steel industry is one of the prime areas for infrastructure development in the country where security is most essential and of paramount importance, Reddy said.
He was addressing a meeting of the standing committee on 'Security and Coordination in Steel Sector' at the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited plant here.
Senior Commandant Digvijay Kumar Singh in his presentation highlighted the measures taken by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)in guarding the plant.
Vizag Steel Plant Director (Operations) Umesh Chandra said clean and green technologies are being adopted in expansion like Pulverised Coal Injection (PCI) in Blast Furnace to improve productivity and to reduce coal consumption.
VSP is the most energy efficient plant in the country and lowest in water consumption. It generates over 55 per cent of power from waste heat and spent gases, he said. PTI
