SCR told to keep train free from inflammables
Railway Board today asked the South Central Railway (SCR) officials to launch a focused campaign to ensure that fire crackers and inflammable articles are not carried on trains by passengers.
Board Chairman Vinay Mittal also suggested joint checks by Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) to curb this menace in the interest of passenger safety, especially in view of the ensuing festival season. Mittal reviewed the performance of SCR with its General Manager G N Asthana and other senior officials at Rail Nilayam at Secunderabad. He appreciated the performance of SCR on several fronts and asked directed SCR authorities to continue the drives against ticket-less travelling, according to a release.
