School Principal Held For Molesting 13-Year-Old Girl

Hyderabad: Naveen Kumar, the principal of Joshi’s Vidyaniketan in Uppal, was arrested on Saturday on charges of molesting a 13-year-old student of his school. Though the incident happened two days ago it came to light on Saturday after the girl refused to go to school and divulged the matter to her parents upon inquiry.
Things got settled after the intervention of police and parents called off their protest after taking the accused into custody
The parents then approached the school officials but as the management refused to talk they staged a protest at the school. Later, students organizations also joined them demanding accused’s arrest and closure of the school. However, things got settled after the intervention of police and parents called off their protest after taking the accused into custody.
A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered and as the girl belongs to SC, a case under and Prevention of Atrocities against SC & ST was also registered.
Uppal inspector Y. Narsimha Reddy said they are investigating the matter and will take action based on medical examination reports.
