SC atrocity case booked against Kodandaram

SC atrocity case booked against Kodandaram - Sakshi Post

It looks like  the apology offered by Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman Prof Kodandaram for his alleged comments against Heavy industries Minister Geeta Reddy has not pacified the Dalit leaders.

On Thursday a SC/ST atrocity case was booked against Kodandaram. Rashtriya Dalit Sena president Purushottam Rao and others lodged the complaint today in the Zaheerabad police station in Medak District alleging that Kodandaram made derogatory remarks against the minister, police said.

According to media reports Kodandaram had made the controversial comments against  the minister in connection with the Telangana movement.

A day after Kodandaram's comments, Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) president Manda Krishna Madiga warned Kodandaram that he would not be allowed to tour the region unless he apologised to Geeta Reddy within a day.

On Wednesday, the TJAC chairman has tendered unconditional apologies to the minister publicly saying it was due to the misinterpretation of a newspaper that his comment appeared twisted.

He said that he praised Eshwar Bai's struggle for the cause of Telangana and that he had asked Geeta Reddy to emulate her mother and join the statehood movement.

But one news paper had distorted his statement, he said.
