Sasikala To Step Into Jaya’s Shoes Soon

Now, it's almost official. The Jayalalithaa's shadow will soon emerge out of shadows and will don the mantle of AIADMK chief.

In less than two weeks after Amma died, the party is all set to elect someone who is not even a primary member of the party. Sasikala Natarajan, whose legendary proximity to the strongest woman politician of Tamil Nadu, is legion will step into the shoes of Jayalalithaa.

Sasikala as of now holds no party post. but, party spokesperson Ponnaiyan says the entire party desires Sasikala to don the mantle.He said "Sasikala has functioned as the conscience of Amma" and that "it is the desire of the entire party." Sasikala is known as Chinnamma in party circles and has lived with Jayalalithaa in her landmark Poes Garden residence.

Already most party leaders, including chief minister O Paneerselvam, Lok Sabha deputy speaker Thambidurai, senior leaders, ministers and others have already backed Sasikala's candidature.

Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5 after a massive cardiac arrest.
