Sania Mirza meets CM KCR

Hyderabad, Tennis ace Sania Mirza, who is the brand ambassador of Telangana, met Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday.

A release from the Chief Minister's Office quoted Sania as saying that she won the US Open mixed doubles event with the encouragement of Rao.

Rao said Sania's victory would inspire many others. Wishing Sania for the future, Rao said the government would provide all necessary help to her. The government would felicitate Sania soon, the release added.

Sania and Brazilian Bruno Soares won the U.S. Open mixed doubles title last Friday. Top-seeded Sania and Soares won 6-1 2-6 11-9, sealing the match tiebreak when American Abigail Spears sent a backhand volley long at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York.
