A 1984 batch IPS officer, Sambasiva Rao will continue as DGP until further orders

Vijayawada: N Sambasiva Rao, a 1984 batch IPS officer, took charge as the interim DGP of Andhra Pradesh here on Saturday.

The state government appointed Sambasiva Rao with full additional charge as DGP. He is at present the Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and one of the senior officers in the rank of Director-General of Police.
Incumbent Director General of Police, J.V. Ramudu, was relived from the post on Saturday on attaining superannuation.

According to a GO issued by the state government, Sambasiva Rao will continue as DGP until further orders.
