Sakshi Journalist Attacked For Reporting Illegal Mining In Vizag

Vishakapatnam: A journalist working with Sakshi Media Group was attacked by a group of assailants on Tuesday in Vishakapatnam for reporting news about illegal sand mining.

Sakshi reporter E. Babu was attacked by six people with iron rods and wine bottles near Nathavaram area in Vishakapatnam for reporting the news on the illegal laterite mining. As the assailants bet the reporter repeatedly, he was injured severely. Locals at the spot were alerted and tried to nab the offenders. One was caught from six people and the locals took him to police station where the police said that he was a history-sheeter, Santosh.
