Sakshi Expose: AP IGRS Website Blocks Land Documents

Vijayawada: The Sakshi expose on the great land grab in the AP Capital area continues to cause tremors in the ruling establishment. The IGRS website, which gives details of land registrations and enables viewer to access and download the certified copy of the land document, has stopped showing the documents from Wednesday afternoon.

Clearly taken by surprise, the Government has blocked the site to ensure that there is no further information leak. Chandrababu Naidu reportedly flew into rage at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday evening on how the documents became public. He slammed the officials for the leakage.
Sakshi expose showed how key TDP leaders, including CM's son Lokesh, bought huge chunks of land in the capital area through proxies. It showed that over 25000 acres had already been appropriated this way.
However, the officials of the stamps and registration have said on condition of anonymity that criticising the officials was not right. "In an effort to cover up the misdemeanors of the party leaders, the CM is trying to conveniently shift the blame on the officials," a stamps and registration employee said.
