Rs20 Crore Properties Seized From Vizag Urban Land Ceiling Deputy Inspector

Hyderabad: A deputy inspector in the land survey section of Vishakapatnam Urban Land Ceiling department has been caught in possession of huge assets and properties disproportionate to his known sources of income on Friday.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths conducted raids on the house of Mummana Rajeshwara Rao in Ayyappa Nagar and five other places in the state and seized documents related to properties worth Rs20 crore and lakhs worth gold and silver ornaments. Rajeshwara Rao is now serving as the president of AP Land Survey Employees Association.

The total properties and other valuables seized at his relatives' places in Vizag and other towns may be a lot more. His bank lockers are being opened at various banks.

ACB DSP Ramadevi said they found most of his properties were amassed in the past four years. He joined the department in 1990 with a salary of Rs1450 per month, he has been working in Vizag ever since.
