Rs2.58 Crore Seized Before GHMC Elections

Hyderabad: All arrangements for the polling of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election scheduled for Tuesday are in place and officials are set to open the voting machines on 7am.The polling will be open till 5pm. The GHMC Commissioner and Returning Officer B. Janardhan Reddy said Braille voting machines are also made available for the visually impaired people to vote. Special queues would be formed for old age people and physically handicapped at the polling stations.

In the raids conducted during the week, a total of Rs2.58 crore was seized from persons belonging to contesting candidates, he said and added that Rs1.5 lakh worth liquor was also confiscated.
