Roja suffers injuries as marshals stop her from entering Assembly
The police resorted to highhanded behaviour to prevent YSRCP MLA RK Roja from entering the Andhra Pradesh state legislative assembly. Roja was injured in the fisticuffs that followed. She was initially taken to the Nampally police station and later shifted to the NIMS hospital.
Roja, who was suspended for one year by Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad, tried to enter the assembly on Saturday morning, but was prevented by the marshals. When YSRCP MLAs entered into an argument with the marshals, the police forcibly pushed Roja back. In the melee, Roja fell down and suffered injuries.
The third day of the assembly session begain on Saturday on a story note with YSRCP strongly demanding that the suspension of Roja be lifted. They also questioned why Roja was being prevented from entering the YSR Congress legislature party office.
YSRCP MLAs decried the police highhandedness and said they have no right to prevent an MLA into her legislature party office. They said the police have also prevented them from going near the Gandhi statue on the premises of the assembly.
