Rohit's death: Cops conduct probe in Gurajala
Guntur: Police have speeded up the inquiry into the suicide of research scholar Rohith at University of Hyderabad. The police under the supervision of Madapur ACP Ramana Kumar visited Gurazala in Guntur district, which is the home village of Rohit.
On Wednesday, police questioned Rohith's paternal grand parents Madhavamma and Venkateshwarlu and elicited information about Rohith's family background, financial status and the motive behind the suicide. The officers also asked the student's friends and neighbours about their antecedents and migration to Hyderabad.
Vemula Rohith committed suicide by hanging self in the hostel on Sunday evening after he was expelled from the university and its premises by the college vice chancellor.
