Robbers kill housewife in SVU campus

In a broad-day light robbery, miscreants killed a 48-year-old woman and made away with her gold chain and ornaments at the Sri Venkateswara University quarters on Friday.

According to reports, some miscreants attacked Sudha Rani and fled with gold chain and bangles. Sudha Rani, the wife of Siva Shankar, an Assistant Administrative officer in SVU, was at her residence at the time of the incident.
The robbers stabbed her and she succumbed to her injuries due to excess of bleeding. CI Ramakrishna soon reached the spot and began investigation.
Several teams have been formed and a combing operation has been launched at the quarters besides deploying clue team.
The incident created tension in Tirupati as this is the second robbery in six months.
