Rivers flow blood if water disputes unsolved: Harikrishna
Former TDP Rajya Sabha member and late N T Rama Rao’s son N Harikrishna called upon the public on Friday to wipe out Congress party led by Sonia Gandhi for its ‘outrageous’ decision to divide Telugus.
In his open letter, considered to be a deviation from his party-line, to the public, Harikrishna accused Sonia Gandhi of dividing the country for her vested interests. Unsolved water disputes will substitute water with the blood of the people of both sides, he said while presuming violence between the two regions. Self pride of Telugu people was mortgaged for the sake of votes and seats, he said.
He also found fault with his party MPs for not tendering their resignations in support of Samaikyandhra.
“If they had resigned at the appropriate time, the situation wouldn't have worsened like this,” he said in an open letter, titled 'Telugu Jathi Manovedana'(The anguish of Telugu people).
The leaders, responsible for the decision of state division are against the interests of the nation and will soon have to face the aggrieved public, he warned. According to him, the leaders, who failed to understand the aspirations of the people, should be stripped off powers to continue in the public office.
Recalling his father, NTR’s ardent support to Samaikyandhra, Harikrishna said that he is following the suit and is opposed to any other topic that deals with division of the State, he averred in his letter.
