Ritz hotel to become legislators' club?
MLAs and MLCs in Andhra Pradesh can soon enjoy ‘star’ facilities during their leisure time in Hyderabad. The Government of Andhra Pradesh will construct a club for the benefit of these legislators in the city.
According to reports, the club will be constructed at a place near to both Secretariat and Assembly in the capital.
Located in an area of about five acres and costing about Rs.200 crores, the land that presently houses, Ritz Hotel, will soon have a club intended for enjoyment of legislators.
Interestingly, the legislators are determined to get the club well before the formation of Telangana. They are pressurising the state government through an Assembly Committee for the same.
During a recent group photo session of legislators, all the MLAs and MLCs questioned the ministers on the status of formation of club.
As per reports, CM has responded favourably to the request of these MLAs and MLCs.
The area was once the official residence of Nawab Zah of Nizam. Later it was the office of City Development Board. Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, during his rule, tried to privatise the land, but later YS Rajasekhara Reddy handed over the land to tourism department.
As per the government sources, the government will soon issue an order allotting the land for the construction of the club.
