Revanth Reddy to petition the Election Commission against KCR - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Telangana chief minister is trying to fool the people of Telangana by showcasing his vision as 3D animation, alleged the Telangana TDP working president A. Revanth Reddy. By passing of developmental models as computer graphics in newspapers, he accused KCR of not only earning money but also deceiving the people.

Speaking to the media at the NTR Trust Bhavan on Saturday, he revealed that he will petition the Central Election Commission in this regard. He alleged that KCR violated the election code, by having several news items published in 'Namaste Telangana' on the 23rd of this month.

These were pertaining to the proposal to extend the metro line from Hyderabad to Yadadri, the proposed construction of a 4-lane-bridge on Durgam Cheruvu and the government's intentions to call for tenders for the Palamuru – Rangareddy – Ethipothala project, he said. Stating that these issues would have a bearing on the elections, he requested the Election Commission to investigate this matter.

He alleged that the Palamuru – Rangareddy – Ethipothala project tenders were already with KCR and they are being awarded to a 'benami company' and it is with the commissions received for this project that KCR is spending crores of Rupees for the GHMC elections. “How is it that they are calling for tenders when the election code was in place in 66 divisions of Rangareddy district”, he questioned.

Revanth requested that the Election Commission to investigate these matters and treat the news stories that have appeared in 'Namaste Telangana' and 'T News' as paid advertisements and offset it under the TRS candidates poll expenditure.

Candidates who spend more than 5 lakh for the elections should be declared as ineligible to contest, he said and added that he is petitioning the Election Commission and the Press Council of India in this regard.
