Relief for YS Vijayamma, YS Sharmila, security cover to be revived

In a relief to YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) honorary president YS Vijayamma, the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday passed interim orders to restore the security cover extended to her so far.

The court also directed the government to restore the security cover given to YS Sharmila and Bro. Anil Kumar. The court posted the matter for further hearing to next week.

YS Vijayamma challenged the TDP government's decision of reducing her security cover.
In the petition, she mentioned that the government has withdrawn the security cover without any notice and said it was against the principles of natural justice. She pointed out that the decision was taken with political motive and that the government has not taken into account life threat perception to them.
She also said that being as a party honorary president she has to tour both the sibling states to address people's problems. She has already submitted a memorandum to intelligence additional DGP on August 31 explaining the threats to her.
