A Redmi mobile exploded in Khanapur mandal of Adilabad district on Monday. Fortunately, there were no injuries or casualties in the incident.

According to sources, a person, identified as Mani, a resident of Khanapur's Shivaji Nagar area, found that his mobile phone was getting heated up. He immediately removed the mobile from his pocket and kept it on a table. He found smoke was emanating from the phone. He ran away from the place and soon, the mobile exploded with a huge sound. The onlookers threw sand and water on the mobile and put out the fire.

In August, a RedMi Note 4 smartphone exploded in the pocket of a user in Ravulapalem in East Godavari district. The owner of the mobile phone, Bhavana Suryakiran, sustained a serious injury on his thigh.

Though Xiaomi's mobile phones are different from other Chinese pieces, the incident in Khanapur has sent shock waves.
