Realtors Construct Flats at Rs 1500 sft, but Temporary Secretariat is getting constructed at Rs 10000 sft: YS Jagan

YS Jagan at Lingayapalem - Sakshi Post

Charging Chandrababu Naidu of duping the farmers and the poor people of Capital region area, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that Chandrababu was being selective when it came to benefiting the landholders. He said while his backers and benamis lands were being exempted from land-pooling, while the lands belonging to the poor farmers are being taken away.

YS Jagan spoke to the farmers of Uddandarayunipalem, Lingayapalem and other villages at Lingayapalem during his one-day tour of the capital area on Thursday. The farmers poured out their tales of woes with YS Jagan. Recounting the injustice done to the locals and marginalised people on the lanka lands and assigned lands, YS Jagan said Chandrababu had first leaked that capital would come up in and around Nuzvid and allowed his benamis to go on a land-buying spree in the Amaravati region at low prices. Later, Amaravati was declared as the capital and the lands of his benamis were protected.

Then the Chandrababu Government has ensured that the lands belonging to his benamis were left out of the land-pooling, while the lands of common people are taken away. Thirdly, he had announced zones in such a way that the lands in the hands of his benamis were kept in the real estate zone so that their prices shoot up and they rake in profits. The land of the farmers has been kept in the agri-zone due to which they cannot sell their lands.

"The Chandrababu Government is holding 48000 acres in its hands. Yet, nothing has been done in the three years. Every thing here is temporary. They are constructing a temporary secretariat in 6 lakh sft area at a cost of Rs 650 crore. This works out to Rs 10000 per sq feet. While the realtors nearby are constructing at Rs 1500 sft, the Government's secretariat is being constructed at Rs 10000 per sft," thundered YS Jagan.

YS Jagan said the police were arresting, threatening and terrorising the locals, especially the Dalits and the marginalised. Those possessing DKT Patta lands and assigned lands were being denied compensation. He asked the people to keep their documents safe and added that once his party comes to power, the farmers would be suitably compensated. Stating that YSRCP is bound to come to power in the 2019 Assembly polls, he said the YSRCP will ensure that every farmer who contributes land for the capital city will be given a fair compensation. “Besides adequate compensation, the farmers who have lost their land will be properly rehabilitated,” YS Jagan said.

Farmers Gandhi, Venkayamma, Dalit leader Guntur Nageswara Rao, Prabhudas and others explained as to how the Government was denying them compensation and was robbing their lands.

"You are staying in a rented house. I will soon buy land, build a own house and stay in Amaravati. I will ensure that farmers of the region, from whom you snatched thousands of acres of land, get justice," Jagan said. The YSRC leader visited Tadepalli, Penumaka, Nidamarru, Lingayapalem and other villages in the capital region and interacted with farmers.
