Reactions to Shiv Sena's Muslim votes revoking statement
Controversial statements of official cancellation of voting rights to muslim drew strong reaction on social networking sites and from various parties.
Calling it as an end to democracy.. any person irrespective of religion, caste and gender have voting rights, Now trying to revoke voting rights of one of the minority sect in the country indicates a threat to democracy.
Reactions of various parties:
Congress: Claimed as secular party Congress said, the ruling alliance had members who are out to create conflict. (Shiv Sena is ally of BJP, and is part of ruling NDA). Saamna has no place in a democratic country like India. The 'Saamna' thinks it lives in some Talibanised land and not in a democratic country like India. The 'Saamna' has no place in culture like ours. A leader of Congress questioned why communal comments keep pouring in despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurances.
"It is very clear you have elements who are out to create conflict and division in the society and inflame passion. Despite the prime minister's repeated assurances in parliament, senior leaders and members of Sangh Parivar keep making such statements," he added.

BJP: The ruling party defended and said that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay's suggestion is out of question and his party in no way supports Shiv Sena's comments. They said that all citizens have equal rights
