Ranga Reddy Collector sentenced to one month jail

Hyderabad: In a sensational verdict, Ranga Reddy district Collector Raghunandan Rao was sentenced to four weeks jail by the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday.

The Collector was also awarded a fine of Rs. 12,000 for not implementing the High Court's order to demolish illegal constructions in Suraram Colony in Qutbullapur of Ranga Reddy district.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Advocate General has urged the High Court to put the judgment on hold for a month to enable the Collector to file an appeal and the court accepted.
