Ramachandrapuram SI Suspended For Oct 29 Attack On YSRCP’s Jakkampudi Raja
East Godavari: Finally, the government has suspended Ramachandrapuram SI Nagaraju for his reckless and high-handed attack on YSRCP youth wing state president Jakkampudi Raja on October 29. On the basis of a report submitted by DSP Venkateswara Rao on the incident, East Godavari district superintendent of police Vishal Gunny issued orders on Friday suspending the SI.
The incident took place on October 29 at Ramachadrapuram when sub-inspector K Nagaraju asked Raja to remove his car from the roadside. The latter asked for moment's time as he was carrying his baby in his hands. However, before Raja could move his car, the SI dragged him out of the car and pushed him by holding the collar of his shirt. He was made to board a waiting police vehicle and was driven to the nearby police station. His wife Rajasri was also inside the car.
Several bystanders protested the actions of the SI as he did not give time to Raja to give the infant to her mother. Protesting against the police high-handedness, YSRCP activists staged rallies and dharnas across the state. YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had also taken a serious view of the incident and strongly condemned the police action.
