Rajinikanth Opens Up On His Smoking, Drinking

Rajinikanth is an epitome of simplicity and humbleness despite being a towering personality in filmdom. And the Thalaivar's latest confession would make you believe in this.

Of late, the actor in a heartfelt letter to veteran actor Sivakumar spoke how the latter advised him to refrain from his two vices he had back then in 70's - smoking and drinking.

The actor candidly confessed that Sivakumar said that he would turn up becoming a great actor and not to spoil health because of bad habits. Thalaivar adds on that the words came true as he went on to become a popular actor, adding that he should have listened to him as he faced health issues at later stage.

The actor’s confession came on the day Sivakumar celebrated his birthday on October 27. The Thalaivar conveyed his wishes in the letter on Sivakumar’s 75th birthday

“At a time when I was addicted to drinking and smoking, Sivakumar used to advise me saying I would become a great actor and not to spoil my health with these habits," said Rajinikanth in a letter to Sivakumar which was published by Indiaglitz.com.

“He is a good man, honest man, descent man, and he has been blessed by god. His words came true. I made it big in films, even as I spoiled my health due to my habits,” Rajinikanth added.

The actor's confession came on the day Sivakumar celebrated his birthday on October 27. The Thalaivar conveyed his wishes in the letter on Sivakumar's 75th birthday.

Sivakumar is father of popular Tamil actors Suriya and Karthi, who arranged a three-day painting exhibition in Chennai to display his artworks.
