Mahishmati setting in Baahubali; director SS Rajamouli

Amaravati: Top Tollywood director SS Rajamouli on Wednesday faced the shock of his life when the AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu rejected the design he suggested for construction of various government buildings in the capital city. At a review meeting convened by the CM, Rajamould was told that the design he suggested for various buildings was not acceptable to the government.

In fact, the CM himself requested the Baahubali director to suggest designs for the construction of Assembly and other buildings in the new capital some time back after the designs submitted by the Singapore and Japan companies were not up to the mark in Chandrababu Naidu’s opinion.

Chandrababu wanted the structures in the new capital to reflect the culture and heritage of the state while the designs presented by the firms were purely on commercial lines. They did not measure up to his expectations and the AP CM roped in Rajamouli to give the designs a Baahubali Mahishmati look.

Rajamouli accepted the task despite his hectic schedule as he felt it would mark his contribution to the new capital. However, after working on the project for almost three months, his designs were flatly rejected. The director told reporters after coming out of the meeting that his designs will be used for Media City.
