Rajamouli Becomes Highest Paid Director With Rs 100 Crore Remuneration For Bahubali-2

The remuneration of Tollywood’s top directors usually ranges somewhere around Rs 15 crore. However, SS Rajamouli has set the bar high for film makers with his magnum opus movie ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’. However, he is reportedly now charging around Rs 100 crore for the next in the series ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’.

Industry sources said that Rajamouli had demanded 50 percent of the pre-release business for Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi versions as his remuneration. With Tamil theatrical rights already being sold for Rs 45 crore, Malayalam and Hindi version rights are expected to be sold for not less than Rs 15 crore and Rs 100-150 crore respectively.

This makes Rajamouli the highest paid director not only in Tollywood but also in India. ‘Baahubali 2’ pre-release business for all Indian versions could be around Rs 350 crore. The shooting for the movie is in the final stages and will be released in April next year.
