Telugu movie Raja The Great released in the theatres today. The film has Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja playing the lead role with Mehreen Kaur as the heroine. Ravi Teja is seen in this interesting film after a reasonable gap. The film is directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju. Anil Ravipudi intends to score a hat-trick with this movie. Story:

Raja (Ravi Teja) is on a secret police mission to save Lucky (Mehreen). What is Lucky's problem and how Raja saves her from danger forms the crux of the movie.

Performances:

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has played the role of Raja to the T and his performance will surely leave an impression on the audiences. Ravi Teja's energy is a plus for the movie. The actor's performance is like a feast for all his fans. The film's leading lady Mehreen Kaur is a good fit for her character and her performance is up to the mark. There are other actors in the film who played their parts very well. Actors like Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, Sampath Raj and few others have made their presence felt in the roles they have been offered. Srinivas Reddy and other comic actors have also provided the required entertainment in the film. Raashi Khanna's special appearance in one of the songs is nice.

Technical Team:

The cinematography of Mohan Krishna is good. His framing is nice. Almost every frame in the movie looks rich as well as colourful. The editing by Tammi Raju is also good. However, the runtime is a disadvantage for the film. The Music, as well as the background score done by Sai Karthik, is impressive. The BGM particularly, in some action scenes is not up to the mark. The graphics work is alright and the dialogues are good. The production values from Dil Raju are Grand.

Verdict:

Raja The Great comes up with an interesting storyline. Except for the fact that the protagonist in the film is blind, the entire set up, drama and action are routine. The director tries his best to present it as a mass action film with all the required commercial elements. With a story having a purpose, the film scores in all the commercial elements. Except for the performances, there is no stuff in the movie that would keep the audiences stick to their seats. The gripping narration is absent in the film and it would certainly become a major drawback. On a whole, except for Ravi Teja, the film may not work at the box office.
