Rail Budget leaves AP, TS disappointed
As expected, the Railway budget introduced by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has belied the expectations of people and disappointed many in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states as new railway zones mentioned in the AP Reorganisation Act remained empty promises.
There is no mention of new railway zones or railway lines promised for the both the Telugu states. Several leaders were critical of railway minister for making no mention of the new railway zones in the states.
The minister has not considered the requests of the several MPs who demanded Railway zones for Visakha and Tirupati.
The only request that has been addressed by the railway ministry is that third railway line to be set up between Kazipet and Vijayawada.
