Rahul Gandhi Turns 47
Amethi (UP): People from different walks of life here extended their good wishes to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who turned 47 on Monday.
Congress party workers and leaders celebrated the birthday of the three-time Amethi MP by distributing 'sharbat' and sweets in different blocks of the district. Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to wish Gandhi. "Birthday greetings to the Congress Vice President, Shri Rahul Gandhi. I pray for his long and healthy life. @OfficeOfRG," Modi said.
Railway minister and BJP leader Suresh Prabhu, Bihar Chief Minister and JDU president Nitish Kumar, DMK working president M K Stalin also wished Gandhi on his birthday. A host of other political leaders and celebrities also wished him.
"Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes & messages. Truly grateful for the love, affection & support from each one of you," Rahul Gandhi's office posted on Twitter. Rahul Gandhi was first elected to Parliament in 2004 from Amethi Lok Sabha constituency and re-elected in 2009 and 2014.
