Hyderabad: Telangana, rich in Heritage sites is trying to encash its advantage.

Converting and renovating heritage sites of the state into tourism attractions can earn funds for Telangana government and also attract tourists from all over the world.

Working on its assests, KCR government now plans to have a garden and museum at Qutub Shahi tombs. Almost all Nizam buildings are being used for various purposes of state. The tale unfolds to centuries back and creates entusiasm in vistors. Salar Jung museum is one of the top most attraction sites in Hyderabad following the famous Charminar. T-government on Wednesday sent a proposal of Rs.85 crore to the Modi government for restoration works at Qutub Shahi tombs, the final abode of Qutub Shahi rulers at Golconda.

The state government also proposes to develop landscaped gardens, site museum and illumination of the monuments spread over 104 acre royal necropolis.
 Ratish Nanda, project director, said though the trust had initially put the project cost at Rs.100 crore, it may exceed the figure."Overall, about Rs.200 crore will be spent in two to three years and by 2018 we will propose the tombs along with Golconda Fort as the UNESCO world heritage site," . The official pointed out that there are 72 monuments on 104 acres - 20 major including seven tombs and 52 minor monuments.
