Quid pro quo: CBI needs more time to file final chargesheet
The Supreme Court has reserved its orders on the bail petition of industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad in connection with the quid pro quo case.
After hearing the arguments from the lawyers of the petitioner and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the court reserved its orders.
During the hearing, Prasad's advocate Harish Salve said that the 1,800-acre land was allotted to Vanpic for development and Chandrababu Naidu too had allotted such lands in the past.
Salve also alleged that the CBI probe lacks substance and also questioned why it was mum over Naidu's misdealings.
On the other hand, the CBI presented the details of the case to the court. CBI also told the court that the investigation would take 4 to 6 months time and a chargesheet could be filed only after the investigation was completed.
Meanwhile, the Court adjourned the hearing till Wednesday on CBI's petition for cancelling the bail granted to Jagathi Publications Vice Chairman Vijay Sai Reddy.
