Protests mark Kavuri's visit to Eluru

Union Minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao on Tuesday tasted the ire of Samaikyandhra agitationists during his visit to his native place Eluru.

The activists led by MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar stopped Kavuri's convoy in front of Kalaparru check post. They raised slogans against Kavuri for taking u-turn on the Telangana issue and demanded his resignation. The police rushed to the spot and cleared the way by arresting the agitating protestors.

Kavuri assured them that if the bifurcation became a certainty he would not hesitate to quit.
