Protesting wife of Tollywood director gets her baby back
After hours of protesting, a mother finally managed to get back her baby. The wife of a small time Tollywood director protested for two days to gain the custody of her child, before being united with her on Saturday.
Srilekha and Harikrishna, who is also an associate director of Anushka starring 'Arundhati', tied the knot one and half-years ago, and have a baby girl.
Srilekha alleged that Harikrishna harassed her for dowry and even threatened to go in for a second marriage. She also complained that he threw her out of the house and kept the baby with him.
She accused his family members of siding with him, and not coming for her rescue.
After lodging a complaint against Harikrishna with Vakada police in Nellore, Srilekha went to her husband's house in Attapur, but found that the house was locked.
She protested in front of her husband's residence, as she wanted to meet her daughter. She sat their crying without food, saying she wont leave till she gets to see her daughter.
"They (his family) threw me out of the house four times. They even beat me, but he never cared. Now I am scared he might do something to my baby," she said.
Soon, Rajender Nagar police intervened and brought her baby to the police station.
On the other hand, Harikrishna alleged that Srilekha did not take proper care of the baby, and neglected her when she was suffering from high fever.
He also added that had he not taken the baby to the hospital she would have slipped into coma. He said that after this incident, he could not trust Srilekha with the baby.
Now, that she knows I have become a director she is trying to damage my name.
