Prankster poses as girl on FB; escalated family feud reaches cops - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Pranks begin in school days and get meaner in college. Everyone has stories of hilarious incidents rolled up their sleeve; about some wisecrack or silly pranks that they can laugh about with their guests and friends at parties.

Every prank is so funny, LOL, ROFL, until you end up being the 'Bakra'! Sometimes things get out of hand and people involved get hurt and offended. Fun at the expense of others is always an 'at your own risk' affair, but seldom do pranksters think twice before casting their snare.

A similar prank that got out of hand and resulted in clashes between families was witnessed recently in the Film Nagar area, when a class eight boy(16) set up a Facebook account in the name of a girl, Jaamiya Naaz and got in touch, with a class ten boy (16), a relative living in the same locality, posing as the girl.

Soon the casual chatting on Facebook grew into friendship and friendship gave the hope of something more... for the victim of the prank, that is. Somewhere during the conversations the boy who was posing as a girl let slip these words...“I love your sister”, throwing a spanner in the wheels of imagination of the class ten boy.

Now slightly suspicious of the drawn-out affair, the victim asked for a meeting on the 11th of December, to prove once and for all that the girl he thought he was talking to was indeed a girl. As can be expected from the anti-climactic finale of every earthly prank, his dreams turned into a nightmare, as Jaamiya Naaz descended on him not as the promising girl on Facebook but as a male relative from the same colony.

Taking offense at the intentional prank the class ten boy picked a fight with his relative that went back and forth and escalated into a family feud. The class ten boy's house was attacked the same night causing damage to the property. The victim's family now approached the police and complained about the prank and the property damage. The police soon booked a case on Aijaz, Parvez, Sheikh Jishaan, Sheikh Taaher, Nikhat, Arif and Zeenath.

The other party also complained to the police that they were also attacked. This prompted the police to book another case on Sohail, Shakeel, Mohammad, Sayyad, Soheel and others. The Banjara Hills police has recorded both the versions and are investigating the same.
