Praja Sankalpa Yatra: YS Jagan Promises Abolition Of Contributory Pension Scheme 

Proddatur: Leader of Opposition in the AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday assured a delegation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Federation (APTF) that the YSRCP government would abolish the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) scheme.

On Day-6 of the Praja Sankala Yatra, YS Jagan interacted with members of APTF who explained the inaction of the state government in redressing their grievances. "No assurances were given by the AP government despite their prolonged struggle on the abolition of CSP," they said. Reacting to their statements, the YSRCP leader promised that after forming the government in the state, he would pass orders for the abolition of CPS scheme. Expressing happiness, the APTF leaders said YS Jagan's assurances would directly benefit 1.84 lakh employees. They promised their support to Praja Sankalpa Yatra till it reaches Ichchapuram.

Later, a delegation representing AP Private Schools, Junior Colleges Association met the YSRCP president. They said that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is encouraging corporate culture in schools and colleges that is impacting the functioning of private schools. They urged YS Jagan to include their issues in the YSRCP manifesto.

Handloom Weavers Meet YS Jagan

Several handloom weavers met YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the padayatra, on Sunday. They told him that they were unable to avail loans for the looms and highlighted the state government’s inaction despite several pleas. “We are unable to operate the looms due to non-availability of loans and it is difficult to send the children to school,” they lamented.

Responding to their grievances, YS Jagan assured that he will take the matter to the notice of the state government and added that there is need to pressurise the administration to heed to their pleas.
